Under the direction of the Family and Children’s Services Manager, assist in the preservation of Indian families; provide a variety of assistance to high-risk clients, including wraparound services, social services, and legal aid; Conduct home visits and safety assessments to monitor the well-being of the client; Advocate for the client in a variety of functions, including domestic violence assistance, court advocacy, and substance abuse assistance. Success candidate must have knowledge of Tribal and county court systems; Child abuse laws, violations, prevention, and protective factors; Case management; oral and written communication skills.; principles and practices of supervision and training; applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; operation of a computer and assigned software. Must have the ability to train and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; meet schedules and time lines; work independently with little direction; plan and organize work; maintain records and files; prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in social work or related field and two years increasingly responsible social work experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Continuously throughout employment, must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license and maintain insurability under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy.
2. This position has duties and responsibilities that require regular contact with or control over Indian children and is therefore subject to the background investigative process to comply with PL 101-630.
